Mike Harmon

National Sales Manager

Years at SteelMaster: 5+ years

Specialty: Extreme weather prone environments, homes and custom projects, state of Alaska, California & Colorado

Mike Harmon has been a National Sales Manager at SteelMaster buildings for five years. He has sold many types of buildings ranging from homes, garages, workshops and more!

Mike specializes in assisting customers in areas that are prone to heavy snow and wind loads.

Mike said, “Alaska snow loads can range from 20 to 300+ psf, so I like being able to give the customer reassurance that we are taking care of their needs. I’m able to give them peace of mind that their building will be able to withstand through the elements of the area.”

In addition to assisting customers with their projects, Mike says the company culture is one of his favorite aspects of his career.

“It’s a family environment here. You’re not a number, your input matters.”

Notable Projects

Home in Paradise, California

Home in Paradise, California

When wildfires tore through Paradise, California, SteelMaster customer Melissa knew she wanted a home that is more durable than the traditional building.

Both Melissa’s home and garage are made with all steel components.

Mike explains, “The front and back walls are fire-rated components that serve the same function as the rest of the building. So, unlike a traditional building that uses wood components, this is all steel and rock and it limits how much combustible materials are on the building.”

Garage in Joshua Tree, California

SteelMaster customer contacted SteelMaster looking for a garage.  He chose a Q-Model with a custom glass sliding door that allows plenty of natural light.

“Just like every SteelMaster building, it is coated with Galvalume Plus, which has reflective properties. This allows the sun to reflect off the exterior of the building, which makes the interior about 15 degrees cooler than the exterior,” Mike explains.

Carport in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Kurt contacted SteelMaster for a carport in Colorado. Mike helped him through the permit challenges by designing a durable structure with the right steel gauge and coating. Kurt painted it to match his house and is thrilled with the outcome!

Batting Dome in Naples, Florida

Batting Dome in Naples, Florida

At SteelMaster, we enjoy witnessing our customers’ creative uses of our buildings. When Daniel wanted a batting dome, Mike designed an 80-foot-long building to accommodate pitching and hitting. The structure meets Florida’s wind load codes and is adaptable for future renovations. Now, their kids can practice safely, shielded from the sun, heat, and rain.

When researching the most cost-effective buildings that would adhere to his snow load, Tony found SteelMaster.  The snow load in his area is 170 feet, which is why he chose a SteelMaster building to protect his investments. Tony stores his boat, Tacoma truck, and ATV in his SteelMaster building.  Upon delivery, Tony was able to erect the arches quickly and easily.
