Sizes & Common Applications

Our metal carports come in a variety of sizes, with standard widths of 12′, 16′, and 20′ and in lengths from 8′ to 40′. Quonset carports can be unlimited in length, as wide as 60′, and as tall as needed, so no matter what needs to be protected, SteelMaster has you covered. The 3 most common applications customers purchase are carports, RV carports, and boat slips.

Cars

Cars

The most common carport use is in the name itself–car storage. Whether you have one car, two cars, or more, our design specialists can help you decide the size you’ll need to keep your vehicle safe.

The width of your carport will depend on how many vehicles you’ll be storing, with the average length of a carport being 14′ with an average height of 10′.

RV Carports

RV Carports

SteelMaster’s durable RV carports are some of the strongest structures in the industry providing the best protection for one of your greatest investments.

Our RV carports can accommodate Class A, B and C motorhome, with lengths starting at 20′ and extending as far as needed and heights that can be raised to fit even the largest RVs.

We also provide RV garages as an option.

Equipment Covers

Equipment Covers

Common for many commercial and industrial applications, carports to cover equipment or work areas, equipment cover carports can be custom-sized to as tall or wide as needed.

Boatslips

Boatslips

Our carports can be installed on a dock as a boat slipcover, or the arches can be mounted to a shipping container to create a shipping container carport.

Like RV carports, these are typically custom-designed and can accommodate a variety of boat sizes.

Outdoor Pavilion

With a few tables and benches, a carport can easily become the perfect spot for outdoor meals, work breaks, or casual get-togethers while enjoying the shade.

Why Choose A Steel Carport Kit Over The Competition? Durability

Wooden Carport Tin/Aluminum Carport Steel Carport
Termite Proof No Yes Yes
Low Maintenance No Yes Yes
Storm Resistant No No Yes
Warping & Buckling Protection No No Yes
Twisting & Cracking Protection No No Yes
Corrosion Resistant No No Yes
Fire Resistant No No Yes
Snow & Wind Load Strength No No Yes

One of the most popular benefits of purchasing a steel carport kit is its amazing quality and strength. Instead of wasting money on maintenance or replacing it after a storm hits your area, you will only have to build a SteelMaster carport one time and it will last for decades.

Unlike a cheap DIY carport made from other materials, a steel carport is able to survive in all kinds of weather. It will not rot, warp, buckle, twist, or crack.

These structures are coated with Galvalume Plus, which is a zinc and aluminum mixture that resists the extreme heat of the sun and protects the steel from rusting or warping.

“I’m very satisfied with the carport overall. I also liked the fact that the company I chose to work with uses a Galvalume Plus coating."
Jack H. Alabama

Disaster Resistant

Our metal custom carports are also corrosion-resistant, fire-resistant, and cannot be destroyed by termites. SteelMaster’s DIY metal carports are engineered to survive some of Mother Nature’s most deadly weather including hurricanes, tornadoes, heavy snow storms, hail, and even fire.

Many of the other carports on the market are built with thin materials that are vulnerable to strong winds and heavy loads.

However, SteelMaster’s experienced design specialists will calculate the gauge of steel you need based on the size and configuration of your carport and your location’s wind and snow load requirements.

The possibilities for SteelMaster metal carports are endless. No matter what needs to be covered, trust our carports to protect your most valuable possessions.
