Land selection and preparation is the first step in getting into your new SteelMaster steel building. How much room do you have for what size steel building? Are there any steel building load restrictions to consider about steel building type or location? Most of our customers prefer a concrete slab built to our Engineer's guidelines; however, it is not required. Arches - Arches are a bolted-together assembly of panels in two-foot wide sections that can easily be raised and bolted to the next standing arch as an easy-to-assemble construction process. These arches represent the roof section and two sidewalls for every steel building. Building lengths can be easily increased by adding new arches for each two feet of length desired. Every SteelMaster steel building is built with our legendary SteelMaster arch panels. This unique design provides a maintenance-free, clear span steel building. These tough, rugged panels are made from 100% heavy commercial Galvalume Plus™ steel, pre-cut and pre-drilled with computer accuracy. Each panel has a deep corrugation running lengthwise with staggered cross-corrugation for added rigidity to create an extremely durable structural system.

Base Connector - The SteelMaster Base Connector provides a transition for your steel building to its foundation. Arches bolt to the Base Connector which anchor bolts to the concrete foundation. The Base Connector gives you the flexibility to move or expand your SteelMaster steel building. It also provides maximum protection against everything from moisture to insects. Perfect for use with existing slabs or block walls.

Bolts - Every SteelMaster steel building is constructed using one-size nut and bolt. The SteelMaster bolt features a recessed polyethylene washer for a virtually airtight seal. They set the standard for quality and ease of construction, and offer unsurpassed strength and flexibility.

Color-of-Choice End Wall - SteelMaster Color-of-Choice End Walls simply bolt together. This provides a weather-resistant shield to an end of your new SteelMaster Steel Building Kit. Color choices include Silver, an aluminum+zinc coating that never needs painting, or factory-painted color choices in White, Tan, Beige, Slate Blue, Melchers Green, or Tile Red. Each Color-of-Choice End Wall includes (1) Trim Kit.

Solid End Wall - SteelMaster Solid End Walls bolt together using the same one-size nut and bolt used for the arches. Absolutely! Most of our customers assemble and raise the arches to complete their SteelMaster Building. Each of our steel buildings comes with an easy-to-read and detailed construction manual to aid in the construction of your new steel building. How do I put the steel building up myself?
Step 1:
Build Your Arches — Putting up your SteelMaster steel building is safe and easy, with 70% of the work done on the ground with only one-size nut and bolt.

Step 2:
Raise Arches — In most cases, no heavy equipment is required when raising your steel building.

Step 3:
Fit Arches Together — Our precision-built arches fit together perfectly. The precision overlap of the arches provides more steel at critical connections, ensuring the easiest-to-assemble, strongest, best-fitting arch system available.

Step 4:
Add End Walls — Finish your steel building with any SteelMaster steel End Wall, or a custom End Wall that you create and add on yourself.

What type of foundation is required?
Your foundation can be concrete, wood, or other materials based on your intended use. Most SteelMaster steel building owners place their steel buildings on a concrete slab or footer. With our simple pre-drilled Base Connector (optional), attaching your SteelMaster Building to foundation anchor bolts is a snap.

What about annual maintenance?
You don't have to treat it, paint it, or maintain it. With a SteelMaster Building, you just enjoy it. The Galvalume™ Plus coating provides years of maintenance-free use. And the rugged resilient steel will take the bumps and bangs common to a working steel building.

Can I insulate a SteelMaster Building?
SteelMaster's® design allows for just about any type of insulation. Whether it's fiberglass rolls, spray-on insulation or rigid foam, it's an easy process.

How long will it take to construct my steel building?
SteelMaster's® pre-cut, pre-drilled Building Kits are easy to assemble. Most SteelMaster Steel Building Kits can be completely assembled in a matter of just a few days.

Can I run electrical wiring through my steel building?
Of course! Running electrical wiring is easy, although, you will probably want to have a certified electrician install your wiring.

How many skylights and/or vents can I put in my steel building?
You must allow six feet of clearance from the end of the steel building before placing a vent or skylight. Then the accessories can be placed every ten feet if they are staggered side to side. If you wish to not stagger the accessories you must allow 20-feet between each skylight and/or vent.

Can I put my own end walls and doors in?
Absolutely! When you need to match or complement other structures, SteelMaster Steel Building Kits can be customized using our Trim Kits to tie into other material such as wood, vinyl siding, even brick or block.

What will prevent condensation in my steel building?
All steel buildings produce some condensation, so make sure your steel building is properly ventilated to avoid any condensation inside your SteelMaster Building.

Can I paint my steel building?
You can paint your SteelMaster Building as you would any other type of steel building. However, painting isn't required for weather protection – the aluminum+zinc surface provides that for 30 years! For more information on painting, please contact a SteelMaster Building Specialist.

What is the best material for this type steel building?
In a word – STEEL! Steel does not rot, warp, shrink or split and it's non-combustible. Structural steel is easier to handle, stronger, and less expensive than any other common steel building material. Steel's inherent strength resists fire, earthquake and hurricane damage. Steel components weigh up to 60% less than wood members and all steel products are repeatedly recyclable.

Will the assembled SteelMaster Building meet or exceed steel building loads?
Every SteelMaster Building has been professionally designed and engineered to meet BOCA, UBC, and IBC loads. Also each steel building comes with professionally engineered plans verifying that it will meet your local steel building loads.

Can I put in a partition?
Customizing the interior of your SteelMaster Building is easy to do. With our clear span, trussless design you can divide up the space in your SteelMaster Building however you want.

How do I off-load my steel building?
In order to expedite the off-loading of your SteelMaster Steel Building Kit, you will need approximately 3-4 people to unload by hand or a piece of equipment such as a forklift, front-end loader, backhoe or boom truck. We recommend you wear gloves if unloading by hand because the panels are very sharp.

How long does it take to get my blueprints?
Blueprints should be received in 3-4 weeks, once all signed paperwork has been received.

Do I have to caulk my entire steel building?
The quality of the SteelMaster overlap provides a virtually leak-proof steel building; therefore, most steel building owners elect not to caulk their entire steel building. Please speak with your Building Specialist regarding your specific application.

Can I put the steel building on concrete or wood walls?
There are a number of options you can use for walls. Concrete, block, wood and even steel are all ways to increase the height of your SteelMaster Steel Building Kit.
